Dylann's Only Friend

Despite Joey Meek's friends and family all recounting that Joey was Dylann's only friend and that even when around multiple people, he would only talk to Joey, Dylann later called him an "associate" and said that the only true friend he ever had was Jack Chandler. However, because he had died in a car accident two years before the shooting, Jack was never able to recount what it was like being friends with Dylann or how close they really were. Jack's mother Melissa Chandler said that as kids, "Dylann and Jack played cards and threw a football in the yard". Dylann's family members also stated that his only friend was Jack.When Dylann told his mother that Jack was dead, she told him to stop joking, and only ended up believing him after he repeated it. When he saw Jack's mother for the first time after his death, he did not show emotion and only hugged her because he was instructed to by his own mother.
