Timeline of various events leading up to the Charleston Church shooting

Morning of December 22, 2014: Dylann visits Charleston and goes to Boone Hall Plantation, and later that afternoon drives by Mother Emanuel AME church at around 3:30 p.m.



February 9, 2015: Dylann purchases the Rhodesia and apartheid South Africa patches seen on his jacket, later that day he registers the lastrhodesian.com domain

February 23 7:43 p.m.: Dylann makes a phone call to Mother Emanuel AME Church

February 27: Dylann travels to Charleston and takes photos at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Angel Oak tree, and Sullivan's Island. He drives by Mother Emanuel AME Church at 8:12 p.m.




February 28: Mall security at Columbiana Centre call the police on Dylann. When searched by police, they find Suboxone and arrest him for a misdemeanor charge of drug possession and ban him from Columbiana Centre for a year

March 13: Dylann's car is searched while being investigated for loitering, a forearm grip for an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and six unloaded magazines are found

April 3: Dylann turns 21 and his dad says he'll give him $400 for a gun

April 11: Dylann goes to Shooter's Choice for a gun application

April 16: Dylann buys a gun and magazines



April 26: Dylann purchases a laser sight for his gun. He returns to Columbiana Centre despite being banned, and is arrested again and banned for three more years

April 27: Dylann purchses 3 more Glock magazines

May 9: Dylann goes to McLeod Plantation in Charleston

May 16: Another trip to Charleston




May 22 and June 13: More ammunition purchased

June 17 4:44 p.m.: lastrhodesian.com is updated with Dylann's manifesto

June 17 6:13 p.m.: Dylann drives to Charleston

June 17 8:17 p.m.: enters Mother Emanuel AME Church

June 17 9:07 p.m: exits Mother Emanuel AME Church
